Wandoo Finance is hiring a Junior Data Engineer to:

-         work on the internal Data Platform

-          automate different data related processes

-          further support business to reach our company’s objectives

About the job:

Primarily you will be improving our internal Data Platform by enhancing its capabilities. Easy to use. Speed. Data Quality. Reports. You name it. A part of it is in the cloud. A part – not yet, but sooner or later it will be. And it is also something we expect you to actively participate in.

We don’t have a split between the Data Analyst, Data Engineer and Analytics Engineer. We make sure every team member can do it all. Therefore, expect to touch the technologies like Google BigQuery and other tools from GCP suite, PowerBI, Python, PostgreSQL, Pentaho, Excel, VBA and others. And we talk to business owners as well.

As this is a junior position, we don’t anticipate you to know everything from day one, but you must have a great desire to learn and grow. To show initiative and to ask questions. To write a lot of SQLs and Pythons. And have fun doing that.

It is going be the third year in a row we hire juniors and have great success with it. The participant’s skills on day 1 and after a year are not even comparable. So don't be afraid to apply even if you have little to none experience with some of the mentioned tools.

Your responsibilities will include:

•           Work with business side to define the requirements

•           Work on Data Platform development

•           Write and test a lot of SQL

•           Create / support / optimize Power BI reports

•           Write and test a lot of Python

•           Implement ad-hoc requests

The requirements for the role:

•           Huge desire to learn and to listen

•           Good English knowledge and communication skills

•           Some knowledge of SQL

•           Good Excel knowledge

•           Analytical thinking and high attention to details

•           Higher education in IT, Economics, Mathematics or similar
